Gangwon-do and Pyeongchang-gun have started to host the Green Bio Venture Campus in the industry-academic cooperation complex exclusively for Green Bio at Pyeongchang Campus in Seoul National University.

The province said on the 23rd, "We submitted a proposal for the location of the campus on the 9th, and received an on-site evaluation of the location of the Green Bio Venture Campus the previous day (22nd)."

In order to attract them, the province and Pyeongchang-gun decided to give administrative incentives to support the operation of the Gangwon-type Venture New Deal Fund (170 billion won), the largest local government in the country, and the Green Bio Venture Campus by up to 20%.

In addition, 30 households of rental housing and 20 rooms which are 99㎡ for single people will be provided separately to support housing and living of venture campus operating institutions and venture companies.

It will also provide sports complex facilities, daycare centers, and guest houses for business businesses in Pyeongchang Campus.

Meanwhile, it will also join hands with GBST (Seoul National University Green Bio Science and Technology Research Institute), KIST Gangneung Branch Natural Product Research Institute, and Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency to settle down as a green bio venture company.

GBST shares joint device centers such as advanced analysis equipment from five affiliated research institutes and supports Green Bio R&D professionals.

KIST Natural Research Institute supports the transfer of new Green Bio material technology and joint research and development, while Chuncheon Bio Industry Promotion Agency advises commercialization and domestic and foreign product launch and marketing.

The province expected that attracting projects to create green bio venture campuses will help foster new green bio industries that converge with IT and BT-related technologies, focusing on the five promising industries of green bio.
